America: The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave

If you are here from a different country and you don’t like the way that we do things, and you don’t like the level of freedom of expression or speech that you have here, that’s the great thing about this country, the borders are wide open…get the FUCK OUT!

There’s a reason that so many people want to come to the United States, because we truly are the land of opportunity. I am a white male. Who never owned slaves, and to the best of my knowledge no one in my family did. I have no white guilt, but I have numerous African American friends and to the best of my knowledge, none of them are out throwing bricks or frozen water bottles at cops that they haven’t taken the time to meet.

I don’t believe anyone in this country ever said or pretended that we had the perfect history, or we were necessarily proud of everything that’s happened here, but by tearing down the statues and changing some words in a book, it certainly doesn’t change what truly happened. 

Those who don’t take the time to study or remember history are bound to repeat both the good and the bad.

I believe the theme for Black Lives Matter in and of itself, is in part responsible. I believe what is being said is that in a lot of cases a white person is treated differently than a person of color.  Over 90% of those of color, each year that are involved in horrendous crimes, are black on black. The biggest problem facing the black community, which no one seems to want to talk about, is the breakdown of the family.
